About Us
As a former hairdresser and stay at home mom with three children, I decided I wanted to start my own business to create my own hours and have the freedom to build it as I see fit in the winter of 2013. After having an experience with a lice infestation with one of my children, speaking with other parents about their experiences, I felt there was an opportunity to help other working parents deal with this problem in the comfort of their own home. We only use natural products that are non-toxic and safe for our children.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are head lice & nits?
Tiny gray-brown wingless parasitic insects that affect only humans. They live by sucking blood from the scalp. They cannot be caught from or passed on to animals. Nits are head lice eggs – tiny white specks that are stuck to the base of hairs.
What causes head lice?
Head lice are transferred from person-to-person by close hair-to-hair contact. Contrary to popular belief, lice do not jump like fleas, fly or swim. Lice walk from one hair to another. Additional contact such as sharing hats, towels, bedding, combs, or headphones can spread the head lice.
What are some symptoms of lice?
Depending on the severity and how long the individual has had the infestation, normal symptoms may include but not limited to red bumps on the hairline, severe scratching, visual signs of lice (size of a sesame seed) or lice eggs.
What should I do if I suspect a case of lice?
Contact Slice of Lice and a consultant will discuss your options for treatment.
Do lice spread disease?
Lice are not dangerous and do not spread disease, but they are contagious and can be very annoying. Their bites may cause an individual’s scalp to become itchy and inflamed, and persistent scratching may lead to skin irritation and even infection. It is wise to treat head lice quickly once the diagnosis is made because they can spread easily from person to person.
What does Slice of Lice do to be different?
We believe education is equally as important as treatment. We will educate you on the truth of lice and nits, how to identify live, dead and hatched eggs, and how to handle outbreaks and help prevent them from occurring.
How long do you spend doing the treatment?
We take as long as is required to remove the lice and nits (eggs), depending on how long you have and if for a child, how long they’ll wait. On average Slice of Lice consultants take up to two hours on clients with medium length hair.
Do you guarantee your service?
Once the follow up visit is completed, there will be a 30 day guarantee, that this case of lice is gone. If it comes back within 30 days, I will come back and treat at no charge.
Is head lice removal painful?
No, our consultants are friendly, courteous and gentle with our treatment services.
